News Flash (U 10's)

HI Everyone ,
training will take place on a thurs
the 6th at 6pm night (date to be confirmed) at Imperial , junc West Town lane and Sturminster road ,
This is the result of negotiation between Whit church FC and the ground management .
Next season it will be the home of the club for all games and training , as the club has outgrown the facilities of Hengrove Athletic
It also means that annual prize day [ provisionally booked for may 9th ] will also take place at imperial with use of function room and astro pitch from 12 noon till 7 pm,with other games included to make a great day out , catering has not been finalized at this time.
As I'm off to Cornwall on fri for a week I;ve quickly put this news out because I think it is a very big step foreword for the club , and will allow it to grow even more ,and it will give you all a chance to digest the info before our next fixture ,as I;m sure there will be views and questions to be exchanged .

Hi everyone

Training sessions will continue until the end of March at West Town lane.
We will then be looking for another pitch for a month because Norton lane is unavailable, having to accommodate all the games that have backed up during the winter.
Anyone with a very large back garden?????
It is possible we have a sponsor for a new strip, we would like to find another to replace track suits.

Now is the time to be thinking about tournaments this summer. They have to be booked in advance and some of the better ones get filled up quickly.
It is also necessary to have as much feedback as possible to ascertain if you want to go , how many do you think we should apply for ? and where ?
It has been suggested that we go farther a field to play teams in a different league, they can be a very enjoyable day out but it is a full day’s commitment some are held on a sat or sun.
The lads came very close to winning last year and to pick up a trophy or 2 would be the icing on the cake.
I have watched nearly all of there games this season and can see how much they have improved.

The change to paying subs on the first of the month was a success, lot less hassle and helps when needed to book tournaments, hopefully will have more to write about next time when we have some dates to confirm.

Bristol Spartak v Whitchurch Sports HML U10C – Sunday 21st March 2010

Another close encounter between Spartak and Whitchurch ended in a draw. Whitchurch keeper, Jacob Raudies was injured early in the first game and had to be replaced, but some great defensive work by Josh Winchester and Sam Atkinson gave the stand in goalie protection and kept Spartak down to just two goals for a 2-0 lead going into the second game.

Whitchurch came back strongly in the second game, taking a four goal lead through Ben Carfield, George James and Billy Rice-Hanlon (2) but a late rally from Spartak saw them hit back with two goals, drawing the match in the final minute.

Bradley Stoke United v Whitchurch Sports Hanham Minor League U10C – Sunday 7th March 2010

Whitchurch came out on top in this close, hard fought encounter by 4 goals to 3. The visitors piled on the pressure in the first half of game 1 with goals from Chesney Blackett and Jamie Hicks giving them a two goal cushion at half time. Bradley Stoke turned the tables in the second half and two early goals brought the scores level, but Whitchurch rallied to see the game out at 2-2.

The second game was just as tight with both sides pushing for the winner in an entertaining end-to-end match. Jay Selway broke the deadlock with a fine strike for Whitchurch but once again Bradley Stoke pulled the game back, equalising in the second half. With the game looking destined for a draw, Jay Selway netted his second, completing a fine team move and Whitchurch were able to see out the remaining time for the win.
