Decisions made at meeting 21st February

Hi everyone.
On Sunday a meeting was held to discuss the future and how we go forward. Wayne opened with the problems of making up the team sheet on match days when players arrive late, also parents of players in the first team leaving early, it was agreed with all present that, when possible, everyone to be there by 10am and stay till the end of play. Of course there will be times when this is not possible, but please to inform Wayne by text before 10. There will be more effort to keep the team not playing to stay together in a group .

The next item was subs. The fee for training will be £10 per month in advance starting on 1st March to be paid if attending or not this was unanimously agreed by all present. After some discussion it was agreed that match day subs to be collected on the day, with Sue and Kelly volunteering to collect from their respective sides .

Other topics discussed: training will be moved back to Norton Lane in the near future but generally agreed that evening to be better than sat morning, so it may be Thursday evening, cannot be more definite till agreed with club , also water bottles to be kept by the players who will be responsible for their own drinks, these to be placed in the crate at start of session so that they can access them at half time without leaving the pitch , also to wear club kit including tracksuit if possible to all games. Those who have grown out of their tracksuits to wear Whitchurch badged hoodies or raincoats

On a personal note I would like to thank Clive for the excellent tops he donated to all the boys as I am sure all would agree .

This is the first time I have done a news letter, and as I am not Oxbridge educated there will be mistakes made, but this first attempt is for the parents who were unable to attend the meeting to keep them informed .

Wayne hopes to hold another in the near future as there will be other items for discussion , there will be another letter shortly when some of these changes have taken place , if anyone has a topic or view to put forward please let me know ,

The fat bald one sat on a buggy .

Whitchurch Sports U10s v Henbury Colts U10s HML U10C – Sunday 21st February 2010

Whitchurch Sports made a dream start to the first game against Henbury Colts when Chesney Blackett finished a move from the kick off with the game only seconds old. This gave the team confidence to press the advantage and their relentless pressure on the Henbury goal was rewarded with a superb hat trick for Devon Walsh and a goal for Jamie Hicks. The game finishing 5-0.

In the second match Henbury made a fine attempt to overturn the deficit scoring five times themselves but, in a very open game Whitchurch found the net enough times to keep the scoreline safe. A goal apiece for Billy Rice-Hanlon, Jay Selway and George James saw the visitors win the game 5-3 for an aggregate 8-5 to Whitchurch.

Whitchurch Sports U10s v Bradley Stoke United U10s Hanham Minor League Division C – Sunday 7th February 2010

Bradley Stoke United came out 3-4 winners in this keenly contested encounter. The first game finished 1-4 in favour of the visitors with the Whitchurch goal coming courtesy of a stunning strike from distance by Devon Walsh who saw the keeper off his line and fired over his head into the top corner.

Two early goals from Jamie Hicks in the second game gave Whitchurch hope of a recovery but Bradley Stoke held firm and always looked dangerous on the break. Despite a concerted effort, Whitchurch were unable to find the net for an equaliser and the score remained 2-0.
